Vision of the Department
Keeping in mind the curriculum of B.Sc.(Hons.) Mathematics and the evolving nature of the subject, the vision of the department is to prepare our undergraduate students to develop critical thinking, reasoning, problem solving attitude and ability to apply mathematical concepts in whatever career they choose to pursue further. We strive hard to provide the students with high calibre faculties, computer facilities, library facilities and administrative support. Our well-equipped computer lab offers visual representation to the theoretical concepts learnt in the theory classes. To gather latest information and new skills, we aim to conduct seminars and workshops for the students as well the faculty.

About the Department
The department of Mathematics is the core department of Aryabhatta College. Initially, the department offered B.A.(P) Mathematics. From the academic session 2013-14 B.Sc.(H) Mathematics was introduced under the FYUP scheme. Since 2016, the department offers admissions in the under-graduate course in Mathematics under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) scheme, which later got framed as Learning Outcomes-based Curriculum Framework (LOCF).

Since Mathematics is the pioneer subject of science, the department is dedicated to take regular classes to contribute their best in teaching. Faculty members have specialization in applied mathematics and analysis who seek to build essential mathematical skills in the students so that they can easily understand and visualize fundamental mathematical concepts. The software MATHEMATICA is used for better visualization of the concepts of mathematics in its own ICT lab with more than 30 computers along with printer and projector. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, teaching-learning was effectively continued using online platforms.

In every academic year, many students qualify prestigious entrance exams such as IIT-JAM, NET-JRF and get admitted in various IIT’s (IIT Mumbai, IIT Indore, IIT Kharagpur) and NIT’s (NIT Warangal). Apart from this, the departmental society “ARYABHATTA MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY” organizes with zeal and zest its annual departmental fest ‘∑igma’ which includes mathematical activities and festivals to increases the interest of students in the subject.
